Google Play Store has a notification to enable notifications. You didn't read that wrong. It shows a badge and everything. I said no for years except that last time. Now I can't find how to turn it off again.

Can’t you just disable notifications for the Google Play Store app? Maybe it’s because I’m on GrapheneOS, but I can just enable/disable notifications like any other app.

This is like an in app Envelope icon thing.

I did get to sit in front of the consoles that served the whole school (via telnet) and even hard rebooted them a few times and I wasn't even in a techy major. Just had good relations with the head of school IT. That much exposure was enough to crave a similar computing experience and that's when I installed Linux at home right after college.

I think prices will go down not up eventually and everybody will have access to it in abundance. That might make most current AI companies go down of course.

Can you guys still write a check at the supermarket checkout? No pin credit cards are small potatoes next to personal checks in terms of weirdness. But I wish we had that trust culture everywhere.

I haven't seen checks being used to pay for groceries in either the US or EU in the past few years, in any case.

Why?

Because it involved a full backup - which wasn't anywhere fast on Proxmox, reinstalling the host, a full restore and then tinkering with the famous "runs everywhere (and not Java!)" boot shenaningans of that flavour of Linux OS.

And that was with the help of a backup-recovery solution which did support Proxmox, mere 6 months before that I would had stuck with an agent P2V migration of a VM to VM - which would had involved way more moving parts (can't P2V/V2V to a hypervisor which is not even installed yet) and more pain.

You don't need to register your domain with them. Only make their DNS servers your domain name servers.

To be clear, we migrated our domains to them after moving our websites there, not before. Our old registrar charged more.

There's a two week old and 1.5gb (compressed Python archive file) Antigravity ACP server now so things are a tiny bit better. But the agy cli reminds me early Aider. It's literally embarrassing.

DNS servers do in fact do that but it would not be a good look for the world's largest DNS provider.

I don't think cloudflare cares about how it looks, also I think Google is bigger.
